“It’s a role play, a performance steeped in hyper-materialism and post-globalisation, but everything is real. Labour power intensifies as phone data decreases, and untraceable wounds remind you of our biological difference and similarity, and in this sense we are all connected. The constant low-frequency sparkles of the city are aggressive, and there is no garbage that you can’t find nearby. Humans resemble mutant parasitic plants, taking root and perpetually migrating. The construction sites, landfills, dark alleys, and wastelands—just a dozen hours’ flight away—create a sense of familiarity.”
